Press Release

Take Ninagawa is pleased to present Yoko Daihara’s solo exhibition “A Little Sweet,” featuring new woven works.

Drawing from imaginary mindscapes and elements of nature found in urban environments, Daihara creates fantastical digital compositions that she then realizes as textile paintings. Working with the transference of mediums, the artist explores multiple forms of life and death in her imagery ranging from neurons to plants and food. Further, Daihara’s reappropriation of yarn anticipates the resurgence of woven forms in contemporary practices.
